Gay As a Window

I do believe I detect the snout of Sir Max of Clifford (self-proclaimed PR guru) at work here, protecting his 'boy' Craiiig Daviiid. Poor Craiiig; it seems he's found no honey bunny hopping around the Great White Way of Broadway. (A whisper in his ear: Chelsea, Chelsea ... take a midnight jog along Chelsea Piers. It's lovely.)

Marriage to Jamelia? Who knows. She's got her sprog - so there are no immediate issues of seed. And they would both feel the benefit: she gets her leg-up into the US R&B scene; back here he has a beard - and mug punters get reminded as to who he is.

Either way, I rest easy. I have complete faith in Warhol's law concerning gravity wave.

And as far as I'm concerned, he is and always shall be gay as a window.

Just to completely educate your readership, you understand, when will you be posting a sample jpeg of a completely gay window?

Well Vanessa, you've no doubt seen that as yet my blog has no photos - no jpegs or anything like that. Not yet worked out the Picasa gadget.

Of course, when I do sort it out the first completely gay window up there shall be one of me. For I don't frown a lot.

And I trust that nobody thinks I'm bitching at gays - not my intention at all. Simply, it saddens me that so many gays still feel it necessary to live in denial. And filth like Max Clifford feast on that denial.

To finish, as I posted to someone just the other day in an exchange concerning "The Day My Computer Said Hello" from I AM NOT AN ANIMAL, my favourite character in that show is Mark, the desperate wannabe pop star. He is us. And he is gay.

And I should have fessed up that "gay as a window" is a phrase used by Chris Morris in one of his BRASS EYE TV shows, if I remember rightly.

What does it mean exactly? I don't know. He's talking out of his brass eye, isn't he?

Heh, no I assumed it wasn't remotely homophobic, DD. I just like the idea of a gay window. I'm certain it has swag curtains.

"Swag curtains" ?!?!

Now you really are intriguing me. What are they? Naturally, I'm familiar with the "beef" variety, but "swag" is new.

Come on. Put me out of my misery!

They're those awful, usually salmon pink, usually satinesque curtains that look like a parachute has been ruched with the aid of Aunt Betty's suspenders. At least in my mind.
The attempt to find a piccie results in the humiliating discovery that a 'swag' in curtain aficionado terms means only a curtain held back by a tie halfway down, or looped over and over and over the pelmet in the way that only the Ritz hotel should try to get away with.
Damn you, London Yarbles, for making me acquire this useless knowledge!
